I haven’t seen swans on the east side of Australia I have been been to Sydney and Melbourne never seen one neither black or white

I’ve only seen black swans in Perth WA

Swans have a reputation for attacking people might be the reason why. I suggested putting a pair of swans out on the university’s duck pond and that’s what I was told.
