Good on ya. I lived in Australia for 45 years, but never managed to capture the accent, despite trying. When I did, I sounded like I came from Birmingham. So I gave up, and after 40 years, still sounded like I had walked out of an Oxford college!
My daughters have clear Australian accents, even though they have lived and worked in Europe for nearly 15 years!
