Why is everyone celebrating? Do you think one man holds all the power in a democracy?
Sure he is a wanker.. Personally I find his idiosyncrasies entertaining.
The point is that he was a puppet.. Clearly a poor one.. However the puppet master is the one who dangles the purse strings.

Agreed, but let's be honest the man doesn't command any respect and is prone to so much stupidity, it's ridiculous - not to mention embarrassing on an international level.

I just look at it in a different way.. He provided valuable entertainment. It's true he certainly wasn't a good representative of the Australian people but let's face it, until recently no one even knew all that much about Australia. For better or worse he's put us on the map lol

Definitely an interesting angle! I'm not sure asylum seekers, remote indigenous Australians, pensioners and low income earners (just to name a few) appreciate the 'entertainment'.

You forget Keating's hand on the Queens back incident. I think even the Americans knew what a faux pas that was 😂

As I said though.. It's not his choice. He isn't a dictator and our country isn't run by a dictatorship therefore peeps can blame Abbott but he's just the face behind the liberal party

So I look at PMs as a puppet and one can entertain or bore you but the message will be the same regardless
