my first engine change ever was a troop carrier like this in Afghanistan

I had very little help except for the government shipping the new engine out to Afghanistan and some people helped operate the forklift to help me align the engine.

I was always hesitant to call myself a mechanic until after this happened.

I remember when I did it too, everyone was hating on me. They were like "meh, good" 😹 or picking on tiny little issues like losing fuel prime sometimes....I was like gimme a fucking break, I just put a whole engine in.
