Men like that believe their own narrow way of life has to be that of everyone, and they are terrified of personal choice.
Recently they arrested four men for dressing as they had seen in some TV drama. The pseudo charge is that of propagating "Western culture".
(A bit like the bizarre request from the North Korean government not so long ago for the presenter of a British gardening programme not to wear jeans - an American garment. Surprisingly perhaps, the programme is very popular on N. Korean's State TV service.)
