Only 1 state doing that for the other 49 states...how LOUD is that! 🔈

@FloorGenAdm Add new York

@kodiac

It's important to point out that New York started allowing the Adhan in public in 2023, and is not something new under Mamdani.

1: Is it violating local sound ordinance laws?

2: It's no different than Catholic church bells. A call to prayer is a call to prayer, whether it's bells or lythergy.

3: Would it make a difference if it was Eastern Orthodox lythergy, spoken in an Eastern European language?

4: Rule number one: We are responsible for ourselves, especially the way we think.

Can we please stop with the sharia law thing, the United States Constitution forbids the establishment of religion.

You’re supposed to be free to do what you want, right? Right?
kodiac · 22-25, M
@LadyShagw0rthy I'm assuming you're British how do you feel about there being places in your country where you are not free to go because you're not muslim?
LadyShagw0rthy · 36-40, F
@kodiac That's bollocks. I can go wherever I please.

Somebody gets his news from memes.

Anyway. You best get some sleep before the next call to prayer…😉

@LadyShagw0rthy to be fair if I play my crust punk that loud, the cops will be called by my neighbors
Because freedom of religion
@kodiac I live in the city center. There are always screaming people after a night out. Are they forcing me to party? No. And after two nights it's just background noise you sleep straight through.

@kodiac
Freedom of religion doesn't mean forcing your beliefs on others
Careful that the Republicans will ship you to El Salvador if they hear such a thing

@kodiac
the people ringing them don't shout death to America.

I missed that part in the video.

Also to be fair, I think it should be allowed, but not necessarily on a loud speaker. Let the mosque clergyman do it vocally from in front of the building. Seems a perfectly reasonable compromise.

As Bob Dylan said "You may serve the devil or you may serve the LORD but you gotta serve somebody."

I mean its annoying af and should have some decible limits. Yet it isnt much different than church bells ringing at various times throughout the day and night.

I mean personally I think amd wish we told all relgions to stfu and keep it inside. However the christians wont ever allow it, so if allowed for one, should be allowed for all.
