As a person living in the USA I get jealous of other countries

[media=https://youtube.com/shorts/B3zrlRWLr0E?si=2UEzzbyzMnU8VlZx]

Was watching a video of a woman eating raw egg with natto and rice with umami sauce. It's not specfically about the raw egg, it's the fact that Japan has quality animal control practices in which she will likely be safe eating the raw egg. The United States don't have that because we have a large anti vaxx movement that makes eating those things unsafe. I'll post the comment I was looking at but in America we don't have those things.

I was also looking at China and their new inventions as well. And I don't know if this is true but there was cctv footage of a shopkeeper who was sleeping in his shop with a dog laying next to him as customers were getting ready to check out. And apparently in certain areas, stealing is uncommon so people just don't worry about it as much.

I'm sure there's inequality in those countries and the dark side, as you know Japan also has an insane work culture which has lead to a condition known as smile mask syndrome which leads to a lot of service workers unaliving themselves and the rise of Japanese hermits, apparently bed rotting is a literal thing there.

But on the other hand, I'm hearing you can rent rooms in Japan for 10 dollars a week. They are small but look cozy and are meant for emergencies etc.

I know that there's still unequal things but at the same time, it seems like other countries have it better than us in some aspects where there's certain aspects I don't want to put up with like smile mask syndrome, Japanese service worker culture is brutal but there's things I like about Japan and China that we don't have in the United states like Japan's 10 dollar rooms where houseless people can stay and food quality or China's climate initiatives, lack of stealing, high speed rails and scientific endeavors.

Back in the late 60s/early 70s, I would mix a raw egg into my milkshakes.
Probably not the smartest thing I ever did, but I would never consider doing it today, even if the egg was from a free range chicken.

@JSul3 I might in Japan cos they have stricter control measures. In the United states we don't have anything like that cos of anti vaxxers so you got to be careful, people always try to give you measles and tuberculosis

Japan is awesome. It’s so civilized.

Here in Italy they're perfectly safe to eat raw too 🥚

@Elessar I'm gonna keep track of countries so I know which ones to go to lol
Three of my cousins were born in Japan while my mother's older brother was stationed there after his three tours in Vietnam, he said American service members and American tourists are horribly disrespected by the Japanese people. But remember, at the time they were there it was less than 30 years after Hiroshima and Nagasaki, so the tensions might have eased off by now.
