It's insane. I thought it would be bad, but it was even worse than I thought.
If you allow for or celebrate a society where it’s admissible for your friends to assault your enemies, you are by default shaping a society in which your enemies can assault your friends.
In their heads he 'fired the first shot', by saying things they didn't want to hear (or want anyone else to hear, and be won over by).
Even leaving aside who he was and what he stood for personally, it's terrifying that they believe they are good people and it's good and right that a man has been killed because he was on the 'other' side. Just inhuman.
