Do you know that some Arab countries celebrate something similar to Halloween👻 but has nothing to do with it ? It’s adorable !😍💓

In the eastern region of Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦and Kuwait🇰🇼 and other countries in east Arabia and close to the Arabic gulf
They have a tradition of celebrating something called “ Gargee'an” every year.

However, unlike Halloween, kids wear traditional clothes and instead of scaring people kids sing traditional songs to receive candy and they also play traditional games !
Here is a link to learn more about it :

I am from the eastern region of Saudi Arabia ، and this custom is part of my culture however, Saudis from other regions aren't familiar with it.

Thought I'd learn a little about it:

Unique to Qatar and the wider Gulf, the celebration of Garangao is one of Ramadan's most beloved traditions for young children, allowing them to go house to house collecting sweet treats from their neighbors.

This joyous occasion is celebrated with children singing melodic music from door to door and collecting candies and treats into their decorated bags. This deeply rooted tradition has been celebrated for hundreds of years in different parts of the Gulf region to reward Muslim children for fasting.

@Zeusdelight surprising how it’s only famous in the east !
I have a Friend from medina (far west ) and she was surprised when I told her about it

@Moon3624 Just the same religious period expressed through slightly different cultures. Good to see the vitality of both the religion and the culture.
