I’m pretty sure people just go to McDonald’s , Burger King etc. When they wanna have American food since they have international franchises.

we have a place near us that is pretty good - American style food, thicc shakes, dirty burgers :) but the rest try but they are awful lol

KFC and Maccas.🤷♀️
Ive never seen an American themed restaurant in Aus. I think they are known for burgers, fries and twinkies. Just like aussies are known for bbqs and vegemite samiches.
I think more recent nations are built on so many culrures that they dont really develop a single dominant iconic style of food.

The joke around the world is that the american embassy is a McDonald's restaurant.

@empanadas well the joke is on them, that's not our embassy but our CIA locations 😋
On another front, I did read a great but too long article about Thailand's democracy through food.
When looking at restaurants percentage to immigration percentages they pretty well match up, except Thai.
As Thai is one of the fastest growing food restaurants in America and not one of the fastest growing immigrants, as Thailand has focused on making Thai restaurants everywhere and making sure the food and recipes are consistent (even if not real Thia) to get Americans (or whatever country hooked), so that we start becoming more interested in their country, both traveling there but also see it in a more positive light and as they expand their food cost keep cheaper and closer to the real thing as well.
