Ireland and the Muslim Ottoman Empire 💕
In 1845 a disease spread across all farms in Ireland
killing a mass amount of crops especially potatoes
Which resulted in famine and 1 million people to lose their lives. The ottomans saw the starvation happening and decided to help sending ships loaded with food and money and sent it to Ireland.
Britain was in control of Ireland at that time and didn’t allow it so the ottomans had to use a secret route to get the help to Ireland.
Until this day the Ireland appreciate this help.
