Fun Fact: Did you know that Pakistan is actually an acronym..? Neither did I :P

The name is taken from the five regions that the British amalgamated into a new country:

Punjab, Afghania, KashmIr, Sindh and BaluchisTAN = PAKISTAN 🇵🇰

It also means "A land abounding in purity" in both Farsi and Pashto, so there is that :P

Nope it's not an acronym. You must have been mistaken

@darkknightt Sounds like an Acronym.
@Fertilization yes but it isn't actually

@darkknightt yes but it is (assuming you know what an acronym is…)
@SW-User being a resident of that country gives me more accurate information

@darkknightt Being a resident of the country that created Pakistan also gives me accurate information. I can also verify it from many sources.

The name Pakistan is an acronym, although the name also translates into Pashto and Farsi. Btw Laser is also an acronym.

@SW-User @darkknightt Better you both do your research. Read about the one who coined this term.
SW-User
@Fertilization I did.

The name of the country was coined in 1933 by Choudhry Rahmat Ali, a Pakistan Movement activist, who published it in a pamphlet Now or Never, using it as an acronym ("thirty million Muslim brethren who live in PAKISTAN"), and referring to the names of the five northern regions of the British Raj: Punjab, Afghania, Kashmir, Sindh, and Baluchistan
Just as I said.
@SW-User what's the source of this information
SW-User
@darkknightt I summarised from Wikipedia (The Fount of All Knowledge), but there are many sources, including this one:

@SW-User lately I have come to know that one can make changes in Wikipedia. 😕
@Fertilization that was my point as well, you can make changes to Wikipedia
@SW-User there you go, you heard it from @Fertilization about the editing thing

@darkknightt @Fertilization @SW-User

that was my point as well, you can make changes to Wikipedia

You can indeed make changes to Wikipedia, and if it was the only source of this information I would be skeptical.

But it's not.

There are many other sources besides, including the one that I posted from the Encyclopaedia Britannica, which perhaps you missed...
