why do yanks hate opposition poltical parties?

The American Civil War never properly ended and we are becoming overdue for a sequel, because Americans don't believe in peaceful mutual secession. In reality there is not much holding most Americans together on any level, be it cultural, racial, ideology etc. The USA is a corporate, contrived country that operates through smoke and mirrors and casino-style neoliberal economics. It's not really grounded in much as a nation except for wanting power over others.

The USA would be much better off splitting off into something like 4 regional countries with mutual trade and defense treaties.

This false unity is a dangerous flashpoint and powder keg waiting for the wrong spark. It almost happened with the first assassination attempt on Trump. Most Americans don't understand how horrific it would have been if Trump didn't just get grazed - it could have very easily led to civil war.

Which is why the rest of the world needs to do their own thing and stop relying on the USA for anything. We don't have our own house in order. It's a house of cards at best.

With two major parties, it's in both of their interests to polarize the electorate as much as possible. 50 years ago, we had conservative Democrats and liberal Republicans; now they've sorted out to the point that anyone like that who is left is either drummed out of the party or seen as a renegade (see Fetterman, John).

This means that the separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches only works if they are divided between the two parties. Right now, Congress is just a rubber stamp for the president, and the only limit on executive overreach is the court system.

We're also overdue for a realignment. Starting in the 1960s, conservative southern Democrats switched to the Republican party, and liberal northeastern Republicans switched to the Democrats. I can see a third party forming out of disillusioned America First Republicans and Democratic Socialists, both of which are populists. While they disagree on social issues, they have a lot in common with foreign policy and economics. Depending on what happens over the next two years, this could happen by 2028.

American politics are very different .

Both parties are bad, but come on. Fascism is worse than Neo-Liberalism. And at least there are some actual Leftists in the DNC.

Everywhere else in the world people vote for a party based on a manifesto of policies.

In America they vote specifically for one person as a leader. And both sides are so entrenched its a popularity contest, not politics.
