@Bumbles I’m 50 years old. Trump stands in opposition to every principle of the GOP that I grew up with. When I was just becoming voting age, I considered myself Republican.

@trollslayer At least we have some hope now!
@beckyromero None of whom were invited to speak at the RNC.

There are some decent, Gerald Ford-Eisenhower type- Republicans left. In the 2020 election some Republicans voted for Biden because they saw through Trump. To Those Republicans my thanks.

I have always disagreed with Republicans on public policy, but I believed they were genuinely patriotic and wanted the best for the country as they saw it.

But MAGA-Trump Republicans have thrown aside the Constitution and democracy in an attempt to install an authoritarian oligarchy, controlled by the corporate-billionaire class. They let fear and anger overrun their patriotism. They have much to answer for.

The US Government is an authoritarian oligarchy, controlled by the corporate-billionaire class no matter how the people roll the loaded dice. It always comes out 7 (Republican) or 11 (Democrat).

There are some pockets left. For instance, Washington State. Dan Newman, one of the GOP House members who voted to impeach Cheeto Benito. The latter endorsed his opponent. The primary was yesterday.

@Bumbles
Wonder what it’s like to remain in such a party.

Delusional. Perhaps people who tried acid may relate.
@Northwest I tried it twice. Sorry, I still can't relate🤣😂

I tried it twice. Sorry, I still can't relate🤣😂

Stop micro dosing, you'll need a full load to get to that level of delusional. 🤣😂

A few, but they are generally quiet while the Trump Cult runs rampant over democracy.

Jeff Flake and Mitt Romney are two.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@trollslayer Indeed.

I have posted a partial list of Republicans/former Republicans who have endorsed Harris/Walz. That list grows ever longer by the day.

Perhaps the majority of those who were key members of his (mis) administration have publicly committed to never voting for him again!
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
Maybe Liz Cheney. It’s a vanishing breed and it’s not good for the country.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Harmonium1923 We need a robust Republican Party, and if they are too far gone to recover post-Trump, then we need a second party to emerge from the ashes, just as the Republicans emerged from the ashes of the Whigs in 1854.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@Harmonium1923 She sure came through!
@Harmonium1923 I think it says alot that we are now looking at a family headed by a war criminal as the "moderates".
Mitt Romney....sort of. But he only became "decent" when he decided to retire and started throwing hand grenades when he was already out the door and there were no consequences for his actions to him personally.
Well Arnold Schwarzenegger, of course. There are a few Republicans who have said they're going to vote for Harris in November. Unfortunately, this is less than like 5% of the Republicans.

What an inane senseless comment. So, you are now qualified to pass judgment on half of the American people. Interestingly, this kind of hate speech from you or anyone is highly inappropriate and demonstrates a high degree blindness to your own personal decency of which there is not a degree large enough to be discernible.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@MarthannBann888 no mirrors in your glass house?
MarthannBann888 · 70-79, F
@trollslayer as a matter of fact, there are. None in your house.
