"The vast majority of House Republicans just voted to take away women's right to travel, to access contraception and to marry who they love.".

I know the bill was set up as a trap but why would they fall for it? Do their donors really desire a return to a time of subjugated sexism?
How would they benefit from a country of Stepford wives?

Of course its a trap, democrats always do that, they slip in other stupid things into these bills they want that they know won't get passed by themselves. Like the bill to give money to the veterans the Republicans voted against, all the Democrats screamed Republicans hate the veterans! Truth is the Democrats also slipped into that bill a bit of manditory spending money for themselves to the tune of around 400 million dollars that they could use for anything with no explanation of how it was spent. Hell they could have just devided it up and given it to themselves. Thats the kind of thing the Republicans vote against. Which is what is happening with what youre talking about, Democrats up to their old tricks and threw in other ridiculas things. To answer your question, no, the Republicans aren't stupid, theyre to smart to let the Democrats get away with their corrupt bills.

@Fukfacewillie not sure there is one but if they don't vote for it they are effectively voting against it in the court of public opinion.

@Tastyfrzz Not really. Voting against the bill and it losing wouldn’t make contraception illegal, but I understand your point.

And they are in safe red districts so no real cost.
They’re beyond stupid. They’re evil.
The women who still vote Republican (and want to continuing having rights) are the stupid ones. 🤨
