The Pitfalls of Our Two Party System

The pitfalls of our two-party system is no more apparent than it is today. It was George Washington who warned us about political parties and what they would do to our nation. Instead of binding the wounds of our nation they in turn for the past decade or so our political parties' have splintered into factional groups where today compromise in never in the equation.

The Republican party today is so far removed from the party of Lincoln or even Regan it's like they live in a fantasy world of their own making. With Trump and his regime defacing the White House, ignoring history especially with his onslaught of tariffs, using the military against Americans and sending in ICE agents to terrorize American cities has completely ruined the United States stature in the eyes of rest of the world.

Now what Americans are facing when the infighting among Republicans, those MAGA fanatics and the delusional Democratic party is a crisis so far removed from the Constitutional boundaries set forth by our Founding Fathers. It is the cruelty of this administration that has set it apart from the traditional norms of previous Presidents.

In complicit with the audacious attitudes of the Trump administration are the spineless MAGA Republicans in Congress and even members of the Supreme Court have all had a hand in adding and abetting the grotesque corruption that has commandeered our democratic republic. As a result the American citizen now faces a future dimmed by the sheer scope of blatant thievery of our founding principles of Liberty, Justice, Education, and Morality.

What is happening today is a total breakdown of civility, decorum and empathy toward not only fellow members of Congress but the American public at large. All brought on by a two-party system that has reached a point where they have ceased being functional in providing the legislation that would elevate everyone's quality of life. Instead, what is transpiring today the American public are pawns being sacrificed in the power plays that the Trump regime is orchestrating all across the country and beyond.

It is our civic duty as stated in the Declaration of Independence to rid ourselves of a tyrannical government that Trump has imposed upon the American public and reestablish a government that provides for the welfare for all and not for the few richest minority as we are seeing today.

It is not so much the party system as it is the lack of participation by the citizens. It varies but about 80% of the eligible voters do not vote in the primary elections. The ones that do are mostly from the fringe of both parties, with that you can't get a more centrist candidate. Donald Trump nor Kamala Harris would not have had a chance at being on the ballot had everyone eligible to vote in the primary elections voted. It is nobody's fault but our own that we have ended up with two tribes led by the fringe of each party.
