@MistyCee I think “benefit” might be a more neutral term, although I actually prefer “earned benefit”.
And if a certain 94 year old mother in law whose son in law was a billionaire wouldn’t even notice if her Social Security check stopped coming, then how about she donate it to widows or orphans or feed starving children or give it as aid to Gaza?

What's insulting about Social Security is the measly payout.
My parents contributed 12% of their salaries to 401k plans throughout their working lives. At the same time, 12% was contributed to Social Security.
The payout (at the MDR rate) from their 401k plans is about TWO and a HALF times greater than Social Security's. 🙄
