As far as corruption is concerned, government is far worse than business on all measures. What you call "worship of business" other people call call earning a living. You don't know what Kamala Harris' ancestor did, who owned five plantations and two hundred slaves in Jamaica. Why don't you find out about that in books that are neutral. That's right she is the daughter of slave owners.
