According to Republicans "Progress" is a bad thing..

Exactly how did that happen???
Here is a quote from Eric Levine. A heavy duty Republican fundraiser. Now the central point is anti Trump. But thats not the bit I want to focus on. He also talks about the progressive agenda as if its the manifesto of the antichrist. As if progress itself was evil.. How did that happen???
“I don’t think it is fair to call Donald Trump a damaged candidate,” said Eric Levine, a top GOP fundraiser who has been calling on the party to move on from Trump since the 2020 election and the uprising at the Capitol. “He is a metastasizing cancer who if he is not stopped is going to destroy the party. Donald Trump is a loser. He is the first president since Hoover to lose the House, the Senate and the presidency in a single term. Because of him Chuck Schumer is the Leader Schumer, and the progressive agenda is threatening to take over the country. And he is probably the only Republican in the country, if not the only person in the country, who can’t beat Joe Biden.”

The rest of the world is focused on progress..The times are a'changing...😷

I hate the word “progress” in a political context. It sounds good, but isn’t necessarily. A neutral word is “change”. Change is good, bad, or indifferent according to its content and one’s opinion.

@MartinII A good point, and "progress" is indeed a word often misused, and indeed warped to suit dogma.

The word "progress" is itself chronological, denoting a change of situation or location with respect to time. It is not a synonym for either improvement or deterioration as that change may be; but many think it is.
@MartinII yes, progress is good if it goes hand in hand with wisdom. Too often it's a case of " hey we can do THIS now! " without thinking through the long term ramifications of it.

@robingoodfellow This is quite true..Wisdom is often confused with an extra dollar in profit..😷
