I Love Comic Books

I loved Tiger, the Beano, Dandy, Warlord and Roy of the Rovers.
I have a number of the Beano and Dandy yearly compilations in the 60th and 70th anniversary series and am recent "classic" Roy of the Rovers decade compilations Rebellion have published.

I remember waiting impatiently for the paperboy to deliver my Beano back in the early 60s. 'The Purple Mask' was one of the serials that I can still recall, but not the storyline. I was never a football fan so Roy of the Rovers passed me by, but the other DC Thomson titles were devoured during wet 'playtimes' in school which was the only time they were acknowledged as acceptable by teachers.

When I discover the US DC Comics and Marvel, they took over as being much more sophisticated! Very different back then to the dark material of today.
