Do you know of any bad gift givers?

What makes them a bad gift giver?

I dislike when a person spends money on something I don't need, instead of getting me the thing that I asked for, which I really do/did need.

Why get someone a pajama set when they stated they need new house shoes?
I have plenty of pajama sets, I receive them every single year. I no longer buy myself PJs.

I have told my dad for example that a movie theater gift card is better than a physical gift. A movie IS a gift.
Go online and send a gift card to my email.

Before you say, maybe he can't use a computer, he is very computer savvy.

I feel like people just give re-gifts so that they don't have to put any thought into anything.
They see it as " at least I gave something".

Not trying to be ungrateful but I'd rather get nothing that a bunch of stuff I don't need.

Meanwhile, Mothers day is coming up.
My mom literally has THREE CLOSETS full of stuff and is always asking for more stuff 🤨

I have come up with a new system for giving gifts. It's rude to give people a reciept because that will let them know what it costed, so I'm going to put the reciept in an envelope and write: "Only open if you wish to return it." That way they're free to return the gift in peace without anyone knowing, but I'm also not waving a price tag in their face.

@Blanchy or you can simply tell the cashier you'd like a "gift receipt".
It has the item listed and a barcode, without a price. 😉
