Oh, definitely. I still have a lot of music to explore too! 馃

@thepreposterouspanda I love seeing the word explore in your comment.

@JoBlak It's definitely a process, right? There is SO much music out there, but if we don't take the time to sift through it and find the good stuff, then we're missing out! So that's always the fun for me with trying out a new band: does it catch my ear? Do I like the way their lyricist weaves his words together? How's the emotion coming through?

...I listen to a lot of music. 馃槄

@thepreposterouspanda You are so right there, thehopefulpanda; it is also an enjoyable process. For me it does not just apply to music, it applies to literature as well.

What I have learned is that I cannot say that I do or do not like a particular genre, be it music or literature; it is tremendously liberating and exciting. I suppose it is the ultimate benefit in striving to be open minded; I have found it applies across many aspects of life. I suppose the adage, 'don't knock it if you haven't tried it' is based in a fundamental truth.

@JoBlak I think part of the fun is when the taste begins to get a little more refined too, ya know? There are things that I can listen to or read and know within the first 10 or 15 minutes that it's not for me... and then there's the rest of it, where the notes all fall in the right spot, and they've found the right levels in the production stage, and it all just feels right. 馃槍

I've been trying to get back into reading more! My attention span suffered a pretty big hit in 2010 and I'm still working on getting back to some semblance of normalcy. 馃馃槄

@thepreposterouspanda I know what you mean; you pretty quickly get to know what is or is not going to work for you.

I am sorry that you have had problems with your attention span; that must be pretty frustrating for other things besides reading too. I do hope normality continues to return for you.

I love reading, always have and I suppose I always will. I love getting absorbed in another world, it takes me out of myself, which has been very important at some points in my life.
