I Love Classical Music

I love Mozart since I saw Amadeus at the age of 12 in the cinema. I discovered Beethoven a few years later and was totally overwhelmed by his 5th sinfony at the age of almost 17 - and I never changed my mind about this masterpiece!
I also like Bach, Händel, Haydn, Schubert, Bruckner, Vivaldi, Verdi and last but not least: Brahms!
By the way, I not really like Wagner...

What about Mahler and R. Strauss? And Elgar, for that matter/

Richard Strauss is not real my cup of tea, nevertheless I like some of his works. Mahler is a similar case. I hardly know any of Elgar's works, but I like his melancholy cello concerto!

Yes, affected by the Great War. As for Strauss: what a range--compare Salome with Ariadne. Or Ein Heldenleben with Metamorphosen (affected by the losses of the Second War).
