@BlueGreenGrey I hadn’t either. It just seems to hit me the right way. When a sound hits it’s unmistakably enjoyable and not something that I can consciously seek out. It has to find me. If I search for it I’ll rarely end up finding it. So elusive but so satisfying when it happens.

serendipity strikes and reveals a new sound to you that seems like it was meant for you, that is awesome

@BlueGreenGrey I have noticed that some things have let me down when I have finally found them or worse I’m haunted by a sound that I can’t find anywhere else but a snippet in a film and I really want to explore and experience it again and in depth. Sometimes I wish I could rip songs and make my own loops and versions.
Another possibility is that I’m far more auditory than visual but the synergistic effects of the two combining in the right balance can also make an impression that is hard to repeat. I’m blanking on an example in a film but something like Drive or Layer Cake or Atomic Blonde and to an extent the 3 versions I’ve seen of the Watchmen film. (original to Directors Cut and the Ultimate Cut) were very vivid experiences and I feel that the music was really what made it feel so enjoyable for me and those aren’t my favorites or the best examples but they do stand out in my mind atm. Wish I could get my brain to work rn. Coherent thought is often most elusive when it’s most required for me. I guess it makes it more satisfying when it does happen though… 🫤
