Tomás Luis de Victoria's Ave Maria
Not many on here, I seem to gather, would want to consider anything written by Tomás Luis de Victoria, the most famous Spanish composer of the Renaissance, as music for daily consumption. Well, that's as wrong a thinking than the exclusion of the Iberian Peninsula in Kenneth Clark's series Civilization, a Personal View, now already sixty years old.
