“Air on the G String” (Johann Sebastian Bach), Performed on a Moog Synthesizer

I stayed with my uncle for a while when I was growing up. During this time, I discovered he had an extensive record collection, and I spent many blissful hours listening to the incredible music in his library.
One of the albums I enjoyed was Wendy Carlos’ Grammy Award-winning Switched-On Bach (1968). For those who don’t know, the entire album is music composed by Johann Sebastian Bach, performed on a Moog synthesizer by Wendy Carlos and Benjamin Folkman.
I really wanted to post the lovely “Air on the G String” track from the album, but Carlos reportedly hasn’t agreed to make it available for distribution to streaming or download platforms. The same is true for some of her other recordings. I did find all of Switched-On Bach’s tracks on the Internet Archive site and they are downloadable from there. It won’t serve my purpose to download the track in question, though, because I’m likely to get a copyright takedown notice if I upload it to YouTube.
I’ve instead posted another synthesizer version of “Air” by a different performer. It’s pretty good, I think.
