It's possible, but I doubt it. He did move permanently to Vienna in 1792 and studied with Haydn. In any case he was his own man and a revolutionary, and his music from the Eroica onwards has a character quite unlike anything that had gone before.

@helenS Not as easy to 'place' as most orchestral Beethoven, for sure. English horn? 🤔 I'd never heard it called that before, but by its French name (cor anglais). Not English, and certainly not a horn...
