Beautiful! A brilliant masterwork.
Reminds me of my first introduction to classical music, and the orchestra hall.
Thanks to a flautist, and her husband - a concert cellist. They toured the world as members of a national symphony orchestra.
I spent my days at her home as a kid while my parents were working.
Outings were to symphony halls, and art galleries.
Riding in the back seat to the sounds of Bach, Hyden, and Tchaikovsky where my love for their genius was born.
Seated floor level, front row opposite the cello's; my first symphony was unforgettable, as the wave of sound crashed over us. Rivaling the best audio system money could buy.

@SethGreene531 thank you for this comment, i'm so happy this piece of beautiful music brings back great memories. one of my dreams one day is hearing it live or even being a part of it playing it <3

@palmtree I'm glad it brought you some joy! And I appreciate the B.C, Thank you.
I hope you have opportunity to see this performed live. I'm sure there are venues close to you, follow the season schedules-- perhaps they will feature a Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov piece.
Do you play an instrument?

@SethGreene531 i hope so too! i play a piano, sadly not an orchestra instrument but i also am a conductor (in making haha!) :)

@palmtree That's fantastic. The piano is such a lovely instrument, I want to learn also.
I'm sure there are piano concertos you could do, or even a way to adapt portions of that symphony to piano or harpsichord. You could host a junior presentation of it in the faculty of music at your university.
That you're studying to be a conductor is inspiring. You will be at the helm of a tremendous machine. Breathing new life into the classical works of the Renaissance.
Coincidently, I'd wanted to do likewise. Become a conductor. The time with our family friend likely inspired this.
How long is your program, and where do you apply to lead an orchestra, once finished? What's the process?

@SethGreene531 oh yes it is! i enjoy playing it but i gave up playing in front of a public, i just play for myself:)
being a conductor is really inspiring indeed, i'm looking forward to meeting new people, working with them and sharing my ideas with others just as getting to hear other's. it's just like any university major, 4 years and i have multiple places to apply but i'm still far away from that:)

@palmtree Piano recitals are intense, as is the lead up. My friend was classically trained, and gave them often.
I would like to play Debussy's Arabesque, some Chopin, and contemporary pieces. There's so much you can do with the instrument.
That's really interesting. A lot of theory, and hard work. But as you say, not unlike any other major.
A matter of putting in the time, networking yourself and waiting.
Very cool!

@palmtree Ravel..oh yes, I remember him! I will look up Pavane, it's likely one I know.
Good luck mastering it!
Chopin is great, love listening to him late at night.
Even though it will be some time before I can play flawlessly, the journey will be fun. I hope to start soon.
Yes, it's a very ambitious goal and you're sensible to see it's not without challenges.
But you are confident in your abilities, all that's required is sharpening those skills.
Be excited, you're on your way!
