Ya know, this isn't something that we haven't been through before. The failure to learn from those experiences, both good and the bad, suggests that compassion and/or empathy aren't what's driving the Democrat positions on immigration and refugees.
Millions of southeast Asians had to run for their lives when the governments of South Vietnam and Cambodia collapsed. And where did they go? They went to protective refugee camps where they could be provided a safe haven while sorting things out, where they could be then later ne sent to countries where they could be integrated into their new lives and where there were open arms to welcome them.
We went through this with Cuba,
We went through this at the end of WW2 where millions and millions and millions of war refugees all over the globe had no homes or countries to return to.
So where are the refugee camps in Mexico, in the US? Where are the places for those fleeing harm can simply check in and be safe from whatever they are fleeing from? The US created refugees camps overnight for Japanese Americans in the 1940s. Created POW camps, created military facilities within a matter of days. Facilities and accommodations that sprung up overnight without trampling or disrupting what's already there?

@Heartlander As you PROBALY noticed, the lefties abhor camps of any kind, and stand outside of them WEEPING dramatically. ANY sort of camp would be fodder for their drama.
@4meAndyou The latest is that they now want to abolish prisons. No more jails.
