Im not there but what is congestion pricing? 😳
@YoMomma All vehicles driving in/into Manhattan have to pay a toll when driving in certain parts of the city at certain hours. Lol….. the claim is that it’ll cut down on traffic and more people will use public transportation. I see that as BS and highly unlikely.

@OlderSometimesWiser oh thank you.. so basically they are making certain streets toll roads..

@YoMomma Effectively, yes. Though not streets but whole areas of streets.
I don't know the effect in New York but many UK and European cities claim useful reductions in traffic. It not only reduces the traffic-jams that so frustrate the motorists who are of course adding their own cars to them, but also reduces air-pollution.
It can be expensive, though in London at least the charge is lower or waived for cars meeting certain, officially-set "low-emission" standards imposed on the manufacturers.
We have had in many UK towns for a long time now, suburban "Park and Ride" schemes with shuttle-bus services to the city-centre. Also many commuters use railway stations away from city-centres in a somewhat similar manner. Many of the latter seem to commute considerable distances, using trains for most of the journeys. It's led to some stations being extended to accommodate longer trains.
Generally though, yes, it is a toll system by another name!.
