I Want To Visit New York City, New York

I’ll be visiting a friend in New York in March. Never been there before... I’ve heard people take subway or other public transportations. Should I rent a car? Or will that be a waste of money? Any advice from New Yorkers?

It costs a lot to survive in NYC, inhabitant or visitor. Don't count on the subways, you'll get lost most likely. Cabs or Uber, the drives will know what's up and where to go and how much, but many of them can con you, too. Just be level headed. Enjoy your visit, maybe renting a car is the right idea, depends on where you're going to park it...if you're not downtown, you can find a parking spot and no worries. If you're there to visit a lot of different places, maybe someone who knows the subway is the best way to go. Good luck 💙
