Anyone recall the Las Vegas shooting in 2017? 59 people were killed and more than 500 were injured.

I was in Vegas at the time. We actually came within moments of buying tickets to the concert last minute, but decided to just hang out that night. The sirens, the hotels and casinos shutting down, meeting and talking to people that were there, some still with blood on their clothes because they couldn't get into their rooms to change. It was a surreal experience and one I will never forget.

I also had friends that were at Columbine when those shootings occurred, and my wife knew one of the kids that passed away fairly well. In fact my niece and nephew attend Columbine High School right now.

Finally, I was working at the hospital that took in a majority of the Movie Theater shooting victims in Aurora Colorado. Again, to hear the stories and see the trauma that was inflicted on the victims is almost indescribable.

I prefer to look on the positive side instead of dwell on how close I was to it all and call myself lucky or figure I have someone watching over me, since I have been so close to tragedy, but not been involved.

Yes I know someone who was on holiday there. Nothing happens to them but they had an awful time.
