Anyone here from Chicago? Or has been there recently?
Looks like I’m heading to the Windy City 🌃 for a week this summer. I’ve never been and I’m wondering if there’s anything I should know before I go? Or places to avoid 😅😬
I grew up there and still have family out there. There's lots of places to visit like the Museum of Science and Industry, Adler Planetarium, the Shedd Aquarium, and Navy Pier. Whatever you do, you'll want to avoid visiting places like North Lawndale, South Lawndale, Back of the Yards, and Englewood. A few of the most crime ridden neighborhoods for decades.
I was born there, went to college there, and was just there for a business meeting. @latinbutterfly got it just right. Although I’d add the parks along Lake Shore Dive because of the homeless and illegals camped out there.
never been myself but i'd love to visit too...i can't remember which side (east or west) one should avoid....but i have heard good things...say hi to al bundy for me 🤣

@beermeplease I’ll definitely do my research before I go lol If it’s anything like LA I’ll just avoid the south side 💀
Funny story almost went into a bdsm hotel with my two other cousins. The lady thought we were going to have a threesome until she found out I was 17. Her creepy smile turned pissed. Meanwhile we just wanted a hotel
@SW-User all jokes aside I got family in Humboldt Park. They got some amazing Mexican food but I'm sure you probably bored of it. 😂 Stay away from the Southside at all costs. North Side Chicago is generally the safest part of city. Make sure to check out Magnificent Mile in downtown. Traffic is pretty bad you got the EL, which the Subway. Best to have a hotel near a stop. Hope you have fun
