I was at a chiropractor appointment I heard this lady talking to my doctor that its been 80 years since a hurricane hit California. I'm on tiktok I'm scaring people by saying might be the end for LA California better know how to swim

these could indeed become more commonplace with climate change

but to be fair Hilary's impacts as a relatively weak TS are not the full brunt of a major hurricane, so to say this is the end of LA is ridiculous hyperbole ... the fact that LA has to take water from other states should be the end of LA (hello, humans, stop building major settlements in deserts, it's just dumb and it is a cost that gets spread around beyond the inhabitants of those settlements)

moreover, the 80 year claim is dubious
