Bham: I assume you've visited the famous Vulcan statue on the mountain top? The old iron forge converted to an art center is damn cool too. Lotsa good cheap ethnic restaurants if you're into that.

There is the stuff the locals do. In Alabama that would be: watch the cars rust, eat paint chips, drink moonshine that is so bad it will make you go blind...

That depends on your definition of fun. Birmingham is not known for its safety

I recommend seeing the Vulcan statue there, it's on top of red mountain.
