@Perry1968 Unfortunately the tore it down. The style is called an Ontario farm house.

@JimboSaturn Wow. What a waste. Unless it was rotten. I doubt anything that replaces it will last a quater as long as that one.

@Perry1968 It was very unmaintained and the foundation was built on timber which were rotting. I guess it would just cost more to repair than build a new one. In Canada, we don't have listed houses, we don't preserve our fast like they do in the UK. We used to rent it for 17 years before we bought the house next door. The new owner tore it down because he felt it was a liability.

@JimboSaturn Thats fair enough. If it was built on wood its done well to last as long as it did. Hopefully the rent on it payed for itself or towards the new project. This place im in is 1869. The whole street the same period. Down the road on the barbican theres houses and buildings 3 and 400 years old. This place always needs fettling with. I reckon it needs 100k spent on this one. The one across the road sold for 850k but thats pristine. Personally id rather have a bit of land. No nearby nieghbours and a decent static home. But hey the UK is tiny and land not easy to obtain here so you have to be greatful theres a roof over your head hey.

@Perry1968 That all makes sense. 400 years old! amazing! would that be Tudor?
Perry1968 · M
@JimboSaturn Yes Tudor i think. The mayflower steps are here. Its where the first inhabits went to America from Plymouth in 1620.
