Does this happen near you?

So, when I was young, it seems every time they worked on the highways, they only closed certain lanes but continued to let traffic use the others. There was a choice to fight traffic on the highway or get off at the next exit and fight traffic on the access road.

HERE, in this day and age, in the dumbass city of SAN ANTONIO, they divert all traffic off the highway onto the access road, but ALAS, they are working on the access road as well.

Last night, there was blocked access to the highway for several miles, then they finally let traffic on for about 1 MILE, then merged everyone off the highway only to be further merged into just one lane on the access road. About an hour and a half in traffic. Early on a FRIDAY night. In a fairly populated city.

What a bunch of A$$HATS!!!

It's loops in San Antonio though. There are other routes.

Where was this? I could have told you of the alternate route was, twenty years later. Just because the highways are all loops within San Antonio itself.

Yeah going out of San Antonio it's different.

@DeWayfarer hard to find an alt route when you're boxed in . Then you think you're free to travel again, but no, you're immediately stuck in a jam again.

@JcuriousTX Draw a circle with a line through any two points of the circle.

It should be clearer what I mean as long as you're within the circle.
