Placa Reial, Las Ramblas, Barcelona!

On the Barri Gotica side of La Rambla is a large square called Placa Reial, which translates as 'Royal Plaza'. It is arguably the liveliest square in Barcelona, particularly at night, having a number of well-known nightclubs and bars. Each September, this is one of the many venues for the festival of La Merce, observing the feast day of the Virgin Mary. Other celebrations occur here, such as those for New Year, and on Sundays, there is a stamp and coin market.
