What are the problems?

What do you see as the main problem in the city/county or state you live in? Economy? Crime? Social issues (outside of crime)?

Here (Memphis) it's crime, exacerbated by generational poverty and the social ills associated with poverty.

Low purchasing power.
Brain drain, especially in health care. People have been taught from a young age for years that if they want a good future they must leave the country. There's overall resignation, nobody wants to deal with local problems and rather try to find a new life in an already well-working system with a better organization, more capital, statistically better quality of life etc.
