Does anyone know much about Jacksonville FL

I am considering a move to Florida .I am interested in Jacksonville area .Can I find a decent apartment ,1 bedroom for 1400 or less?How is the job market?Are there any unsafe neighborhoods? I would love a walkable neighborhood with shops and job opportunities within walking distance.

@Max13 It is within a reasonable distance to people I would Visit in Hilton Head SC.I am also considering Hilton Head
but is very difficult to find an affordable apartment.I also prefer the slightly warmer climate in Jacksonville.I am also open to other suggestions in Florida or SC .Thanks
