Indeed WHO was Jesus talking TO when He said these things? THAT is the biggest question...

When figuring out the timing of at least some "End Times" events. WAS Jesus talking TO the people of HIS day, or WAS HE talking TO Greg from 2025 in Iowa? Or Lucy in Oklahoma in 2024? Some apocryphal writings that DO give DETAILS of End Times events IN THE SENSE OF total destruction and a Final Judgment, and a New Heaven and New Earth, entrance into the Eternal Age, do NOT make ANY mention of a Tribulation as part of that deal, it is just TOTAL DESTRUCTION, Resurrection, Judgment, Eternal Age, done deal, all done within a short time frame, no 7 year Tribulation...maybe because that already happened?

The point is is so many keep saying the Tribulation is just a few years away, but what if it NEVER comes because it already happened, what if all these preachers hyped us up to wait and wait and wait for nothing, and we just sit as couch potatoes waiting and waiting and waiting....there is an excellent video on YouTube called, "The Church Impotent", where people being given dates of the End Times or Rapture just wait and wait a long time doing nothing useful...which is the opposite of what God told us to do. There is a very old doctrine that goes, "The Church Pilgrim" - the church on earth, "The Church Suffering" - meaning persecution or difficulties in life, or even wrestling as repentance is processed, "The Church Triumphant" - the church in heaven, but then there is something called, "The Church Impotent" - which means Christians shooting a lot of spiritual blanks, we don't need to be that, that isn't what God called us to be like at all.
The Christian bible is a book of writings, of sayings, of stories. Some take the contents for face value, some apply deeper meanings into what's on the pages.
@onrealityofdreams Some things in the bible are literally true, but even those things have deeper layers of meanings, it all does.
@SpiritualMan I find the section in Ecclesiastes 3, 1-8 to be factual.
@onrealityofdreams Oh ya, very true.

So you’re saying the Bible is irrelevant
@Ferise1 We will likely never literally walk through parted waters in a large sea on dry land with walls on water on both sides, but we may run into situations that require applying that kind of faith.

@SpiritualMan you believe Moses actually parted the seas?
@Ferise1 No, I do not believe Moses parted the seas at all as a mere man, GOD parted the seas using Moses as a vessel.
