Oh yes. Oh yes. I never tire of rewatching it. It touches my heart and spirit more than I could ever express. I recommend this movie to all. If people have not seen this, they really don't know what they're missing. It is so true to scripture and that's what makes it even more special. The love and dedication they poured into the making of this film, is amazing. One of my favorites.

I enjoyed this film. Robert Powell was excellent in it. My mother who has gone to church her whole life has it on dvd. It's a very powerful movie and the soundtrack is wonderful.
Thankyou was going to say I should watch this during an inside date night with my wife- but judging by it's length it should cover a good 3 date nights!

I will check it out, thank you. I feel that any show or movie that brings people to Jesus is a good thing. Within reason, of course.

@AbbeyRhode Right Abbey but we also look at The Biblical accuracy. Because in Bible, it is mentioned that we should not add anything to it on our own.
If a show recreates some scenes into movie on its own, 10 years down the line, people will add more and more stories on their own. Then many more stories and it will not be Biblically correct and defeat it's very motive.

I saw that movie when I was a kid. Robert Powell did an outstanding job portraying Jesus and Michael Yorke was terrific as John the Baptist.

Saw it when it first came out ('77?) It was a TV 'blockbuster' prestige production for the commercial channel in the UK - we only had one back then.

@FreddieUK It is the best one till now.

@DanielsASJ I had a colour TV in an age when they were few in our town, so all the young people from my church came round to watch on Easter Sunday evening. It was a bit rebellious not to be at evening service, but back then if you didn't see it at transmission, you didn't see it.

I watched them all in one go.
@markinkansas But SO worth it. I just wish everyone would take a look. They would be amazed at what a beautiful movie this is. It's amongst my favorite. I never get tired of watching it. That's how powerful and beautiful it is. It is so true to scripture.

@DanielsASJ The Jesus Film is based upon The Gospel of Luke.
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
@OverTheHill I haven't seen The Jesus Film but will watch it pretty soon.
@DanielsASJ neither have I and I plan to watch it.
This film came out when I was nine in 1979, my mother is a very extremist retired church secretary that made my older brothers and myself read the bible cover to cover each year while growing up, then making us give her oral reports every sunday after church about the sermon before breakfast at the restaurant. I saw this film quite a lot while growing up.

What two other religious Jesus films of the 70's were considered blasphemous by mainstream religion, and why.
