Transform Your Life by the Power of Jesus
Reading can teach you about yourself. You are able to reflect and recognize who you'd like to be, from its pages. Reading can allow you to see what's important to you, by the kind of books you tend to choose. Reading increases your own creativity, sometimes sparking other ideas in your life. However, there's one book that far surpasses all others. That is because within its pages, you will find that the Holy Spirit of God, lives and breathes great truths, wisdom, and powerful life-changing experiences.
The Bible provides you a moral compass. It helps guide you through tough decisions that life throws at you, and it will help you in times of trouble. It also helps people with their daily lives, by providing them very wise council and guidance.
The Bible says that changing your thoughts is the key to a fresh start in any or every area of your life. Ephesians 4:23 says to be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind, which means having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude.
Ephesians 5:15 says to walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise. This means to walk with purpose, not aimlessly drifting around with no thought for life. Life really is precious and it should not be wasted.
The Bible instructs us to "put off your old self" in Ephesians 4:20-24. It tells us that our old self has been corrupted by sin and selfish desires. Are you willing to turn away from your old sinful habits, which are hurting you and your life, to a brand new life in Christ? Realizing that our old ways have not provided any benefit to us, but continue to keep us stuck in life with the same old habits, that we can clearly see, have not worked for us.
All we have to do is turn from our self-destructive ways, turn to Jesus for help, ask him to forgive us of our sins, and the Holy Spirit will literally do the transformation in our hearts, giving us a brand new life in Christ. Jesus hears your prayers and will give you the desires of your heart, and help you overcome temptation. Now you no longer have to walk alone through life. You can have a Divine and Holy helper, who shall guide you and love you all the days of your life. He will never give you information that will hurt you.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
If Jesus is your Savior, dedicating time to prayer, reading and putting Scripture into practice, can have dramatic effects. Remember, Jesus said His words are alive, and they do change lives. You may have seen other's lives completely transformed under the power of the Holy Spirit. No other can do that. This is what God did for me and so many others I know of. I truthfully was not expecting, nor did I even know, that such a transformation by the Holy Spirit could take place! As I asked Jesus to save my soul, He sure proved Himself to me, that he is very real and alive! I was totally shocked of the transformation that took place in me by the Holy Spirit, the very second I asked Jesus to come into my heart and life as my Savior! There is no sin in Jesus. He is Holy and cannot sin. He is no liar. He does exactly as he says he will do. Absolutely!!!
God's power is unlimited and unchanging. He never turns anyone away, who wants to be rescued from the condemnation that sin placed on us all. Jesus came to rescue us from our old way of life that was causing destruction, and by His power and grace, He sends the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and transform our lives for the better. We certainly don't have that power, but Jesus does! Salvation has absolutely nothing to do with our performance. It has everything to do, with God's grace and our willingness to allow Jesus to save us. He promises to send the Holy Spirit to dwell in us, the minute we accept Jesus as Savior, and that's exactly what He does. I am living proof of it and so are thousands of others. Jesus came to save all, not just some.
As we come to Jesus, we find that we no longer have a desire to hang on to our old sinful habits, but to experience love, peace, and joy in Christ.
As a believer in Christ.... that is, should you accept Jesus' invitation to salvation...you will begin to experience the power of the Holy Spirit in your life, who shall produce in you, what the Bible calls "good fruit", which includes encouragement, hope, love, forgiveness, reconciliation, and peace. Bad fruit includes discouragement, division, condemnation, bitterness, and foolishness.
Today could be the first day of your life, as you turn to Jesus and allow him to do what he came to do, and that is to save you from the condemnation of sin, so you can have eternal life and happiness in heaven with him.
If you find yourself drowning under the weight of this life, Jesus can rescue you. It is his promise...and he never breaks a promise.
