If you could peek into the spirit world, you would see that Satan fights for your soul, every day.
"Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one."- James 1:13
It is Jesus that came into this world, to save us; not to condemn us.
"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world, through Him, might be saved." - John 3:17
Everyday of our lives, Satan is trying to win our favor, by lying against God, so that our soul can join him in hell for eternity. Why, you ask? To get the answer, we first have to look at the history of Satan's nature.
Who is Lucifer, in the Bible? Did you know that he was actually one of God's most beautiful angels in heaven? Angels are spirit beings. Did you know that angels have free will, like we do?
Satan, also know as Lucifer, is the same person. He was an Anointed Cherub, who was in the very presence of God. He was the most beautiful of God's creations...
"Thus says the Lord God: "You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering...sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold, were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created, they were prepared." - (Ezekiel 28:14-17)
We have a description of God's throne in Ezekiel chapter one. It is absolutely gorgeous. Bathed in rainbow colors, it streams light all around. Lucifer was right there! Around the throne, other angels also, are bathed in the glory of God's presence.
Lucifer was given choice, as are all God's creatures. One day his ego got the best of him and he wanted to take over heaven and be worshiped as God. The Bible says that God did not make him to be evil, but that he chose to be evil in his heart, so he influenced and gathered followers for himself, by lying to them and making promises he could not fulfill, then all rebelled against God, to take over His throne.
Lucifer and his angels rebelled against God in heaven, and proudly presumed to try their strength against His. Then God, by His almighty power, overcame the strength of Lucifer/Satan and his followers (Rev. 12:11) and cast him them all out of heaven, like lightning, to the earth.
Satan still hopes to get revenge, by filling our hearts and minds with lies about God, so that no soul will want to be saved. God's Plan of Salvation rescues us from the condemnation that sin placed on us. Satan knows that if he can convince us that God is the evil one, we'll turn away, against God altogether, and he knows that's the one thing that will hurt God more than anything! God wants no one to miss heaven. And who causes us to sin, but Satan?!! It is not God that condemns us - SIN does, as it keeps us seperated from God, UNTIL we repent of it, and ask Jesus to forgive us. He readily forgives our sins, thus bringing us back into right standing and restored fellowship with our Heavenly Father. He turns no one away.
Lucifer's name was changed to Satan. The Hebrew term śāṭān (Hebrew: שָׂטָן) is a generic noun meaning"accuser" or "adversary", and is derived from a verb meaning primarily "to obstruct, oppose". He is the author of lies and deception. He falsely accuses God of wanting to harm us and send us all to hell. Satan was cast out of heaven and still to this day, wants us to follow and worship him. Be very aware, he is anything and everything, but the beautiful being he was created! He will tell you anything to get you to follow him, instead of Christ. God warns in His Word, trying to save us and protect us...
Satan himself, transforms himself into an angel of light. In other words, he makes sin look innocent, like no big deal, as if it can do no harm. He always makes sin look fun and attractive, so we can be enticed. Here's God's warning:
1Peter 5:8-9. Be sober, be vigilant, careful and ever watchful; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom you must resist stedfastly, in the faith...
We are all in the same spiritual boat- in need of Jesus to be our Savior and rescue us from the condemnation that sin placed on us all. Since this is spiritual warfare, Satan and sin, can only be overcome by Jesus. In the spiritual world, the price for sin, is always death and separation from our Holy Heavenly Father in heaven. Sin can only be paid for, by the shedding of sinless, innocent blood...a sinless sacrifice (Hebrews 9:22)...That's where Jesus came in. That's why He came to earth, because He is the only person who is worthy enough to pay for our sins, given that He was without sin and his blood, innocent and pure. We cannot drag our sins into a holy heaven, but thank God, He didn't leave us there to die in our sins!
Jesus, as our only Meditator between God and man, (1st Timothy 2:5-6), promises that if we will ask Him to forgive our sins and invite him into our hearts and lives as our Savior, He will not only forgive our sins, but as our Savior, He will erase them from our soul, off our record, so when we die, we shall have eternal life in heaven. He never breaks a promise. Now it's up to you. Will you love Jesus enough to ask him to save your soul and forgive your sins? Remember, our sins keep us separated from God, until we ask Jesus to save us. Jesus said now is the time for salvation. He does not want us putting off that decision.
Remember...while we do not have the spiritual eyes to see it until we cross over, a spiritual war wages in the spirit world, over our soul. Satan wants us to spend eternity with him.
Ephesians 6:12 - "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
It is Jesus that came into this world, to save us; not to condemn us.
"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world, through Him, might be saved." - John 3:17
