He also said He didn't know when the end would be and we shouldn't guess it, but be ready. Since His ascension there has not been a time when there not 'wars and rumours of wars'. We just have 24/7 news channels pumping out hype for keeping eyeballs fixed on that screen so they can sell advertising, which were not around then.

@BritishFailedAesthetic Because we are considering the things of eternity not the temporal, future, past and present have no meaning in that realm. What Jesus knows 'now' is only a question for those living in the temporal. There are enough injunctions in the Bible not to guess the time of the end for me not to waste my (limited) time doing so. It may well be that all those who are now in the eternal realm know about the end, but since there is no 'end' in eternity, it is (idle?) speculation on my part and of no consequence.
