The time is NOT now. 8 years is a long time. Who knows what treatments might be available by then? Plus, God still heals today.
4meAndyou · F
@daydeeo Yes, HE does!!! You made me smile!!!

To your north on Mount Desert Island
The summit of Cadillac mountain

Gibbon · 70-79, M
@4meAndyou sadly I'll never be back there. The whole area has turned into a tourist trap and is no longer an enjoyable place to visit. Since the early 2000s the damn cruise ships destroyed the experience of visiting a quaint town and having an inexpensive dock side lobster meal. I remember driving in and spending a day in bar harbor and up on the mountain now parking is paid and mostly unavailable
4meAndyou · F
@Gibbon Well, like me, allow the memories of beauty sustain you!
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@4meAndyou I do. I was born in Maine but spent my whole life down here. However many trips back visiting family and never without going to the island. The last time I went was the shocker and disappointment. I didn't even get close enough driving to cross the short bridge in.
MarineBob · 61-69, M
Last year I got a glasses restriction placed on my license
4meAndyou · F
@MarineBob I am not QUITE there yet...but it's coming.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
So sorry to hear this. Yes enjoy your vision every second of your day.
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti Dont you worry about THAT!!! I ROCKED Sherlock ALL DAY today!!!
Rabscuttle · 41-45
I'm sorry to hear that- hopefully something's developed in that time that prevents it, or at least buys you more time.

In the meanwhile, I'd suggest that you pick up Braille. It's easier to learn when you can still see (or so I'm told, anyway), and it comes in handy more often than you'd suspect.
4meAndyou · F
@Rabscuttle Good idea.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
Just make the most of what you have. I am so sorry that this trial is ahead.
4meAndyou · F
@FreddieUK Don't be sorry. This is God's PLAN for me! I am going to learn all kinds of new stuff!
Prison1203 · 61-69, M
Sorry to hear that I had a friend that had that and did eventually go blind but he lived his life like he wasn’t
4meAndyou · F
@Prison1203 That's the best way to live!!!
ABCDEF7 · M
I hope you are taking adequate care of yourself. Taking green leafy vegetables, wearing sunglasses outdoors that block UV and blue rays, maintaning blood pressure levels and taking required supplements like AREDS2 formula.

Take Care. 🤗
4meAndyou · F
@ABCDEF7 I picked up the AREDS2 today. I had to use 3 months of my pharmacy benefit to buy it, and it is a 70 day supply.

My eyes are getting worse more rapidly than I thought. I told the cashier the buttons I could see were all black, so I didn't know which one to push. She had to come around and help me. SHE could see what the buttons said.

But at least I can still see well enough to drive.

And I picked up 4 huge cans of seasoned kale to put in soups.
ABCDEF7 · M
@4meAndyou That's good you got 70 day supply of AREDS2 fornow, but it's really concerning the speed your vision is getting worse. Please take care, and also follow other things some of which I mentioned earlier like maintaning correct blood pressure, taking green leafy vegetables, etc.
4meAndyou · F
@ABCDEF7 Yes, thank you. My blood pressure appears to be naturally low. AND I stocked up on kale.
Be careful not to condemn yourself to blindness. One never knows what really will happen, but you - as the holder of your own sight - have to power to condemn yourself to blindness so please be careful here.

Sorry, I know this is a sensitive topic, but I must warn.
4meAndyou · F
@Magicianzini Kind of out of my hands. I do plan to get the surgery that is available. They can insert special lenses that will curve my peripheral vision inward, and will increase my field of vision.
