When people tell you god really knows what he is doing...

The whole concept of God doesn’t make sense to me - if he is real then my opinion would be he’s an evil fucker

And yet, for the past few decades, we've seen the greatest period of prosperity and peace in world history. God really needs to get back on his meds.

When I was a kid he just used to make a bit of thunder and lightning when he was angry. He must be getting worse the older he gets.

Sounds like their god is a narcissist. I've always wondered how people justify their god(s) is/are the one and only truly... It makes no sense to me... If so, it would be the same no matter where you go, and why would religions be using god(s) fighting and killing each other?

We atheists don't believe such things.

You should read the Gospels rather then have faith in what ever a Christian tells you..

And yeah God knows what He is doing.. But suffering on this planet is just background noise.. It is a result of us becoming imperfect when our ancestors decided to believe a lie and take on the knowledge of good and evil and so they sinned and we having inherited the same defect also sin..

But we only live for one life time.. Then we enter into eternity.. Where we who are saved will be transformed back into perfect beings and out existence will be without suffering.. No more natural disasters.. No more worries about money.. No more tears..

I think there are some Christian people who presume to know all the ways of God. They don't and they shouldn't be making out that they do. Actually I saw a lot of indirect goodness come from COVID. I saw people rally together and help others. I saw people looking out more for the elderly and vulnerable in society. I saw people take notice and be thankful for those who heal and take care of others. I believe God spoke into COVID and answered prayer but I don't believe it was because he was angry.

This group is a bit too paradoxical for believers: how can you not believe in John? John exists since he's got a name, ugh?

Some of the religious zealots say or used to say that God invented AIDS to punish LGBT.

I guess though if he condemned the entire world to suffering for generations to come because the first two people on Earth ate the forbidden fruit, he is capable of about anything.

Then they will say “ God never gives you anymore than you can handle”.
