I Am Christian

If god is supposed to love us so damn much, why is his need to have us come to him without proof more important to him than the well-being off our eternal soul?

I mean, if you had a human parent who was more concerned that you love them without any real reason than they were with their child's well-being you would consider them to be a pretty awful, selfish parent, yes?

That's not love.

Greg, we will have to agree to disagree. I already know everything you could possibly say because I've been on your side of this conversation many times and since changing my views talked to a lot of Christians about this.

We watch the news today and see extremists killing in the name of their God and think it's disgusting and evil. Yet the Old Testament is filled with it. Slicing pregnant womens bellies open and slaughtering their unborn babies because they don't worship the God from the bible. If Christians took the Old Testament as seriously as those extremists take the Koran they would be able to justify murdering unbelievers in their own minds. Not to mention in the last 2000 years the number of people who have been forced to convert to Christianity or die. I will never believe God would do that.
