Old Town Bible Study

So having a complex life at the moment having to live away from where my wife and I usually do due to works, water cut off, not being suitable for hybrid work at the moment, etc. She is off having to help relatives.

So I went to a men's Bible study at the first church I attended way back in my old hometown.

I came through when it was my turn for thoughts as the Anglican version of Jordan Riley (Real Talk)- 1000% intense on God's glory and sovereignty 😅

The study had a wide variety of Anglicans- at my thoughts the vicar was satisfied (Richard Sibbes book on the office table), the turtle neck jumper theology nerds (the "Christianity is intellectual, small sips of beer types) looked disapprovingly.

My no#1 fan? A man my own age, shaved bald head with mostly missing teeth, the few remaining teeth in a crooked shape.

He came out afterwards to me when the study was finished and said he loved what I said and I had given him alot to think about. See, he was from a background where real talk was important. Not sugar coating reality.

The points that encouraged him were actually points my pastor used to encourage us and thoughts from Bible study and theology I had read.

The point is, Christians, never feel like you have been encouraged in vain. Always share the encouragement you have recieved, you never know how your words of encouragement you have recieved will encourage others, God by His grace may well use them!

And yes I was the Anglican version of this guy 🤭
