Do unto others as you would have them do unto you

If you believe that someone different from yourself should suffer then someone different from yourself shall believe that you should suffer. It is better that you should believe that no one should suffer. For if you believe that there is a God that shall save you from such a wishful thinking then it is an illusion that you can make others suffer without its consequence.

This reminds of something I've had to learn in my own walk with Christ; when it comes to the "Golden Rule", it isn't just a moral guideline, it's a spiritual mirror that shows us who we're becoming in Christ.

When Jesus said,

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (Luke 6:31)

, He was calling us to break the cycle of hurt instead of feeding into it. I've learned that wishing suffering on someone else only plants seeds that come back around, just like Proverbs teaches:

"Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity" (Proverbs 22:8)

I've seen how easy it is for some to justify cruelty in the name of righteousness, but Scripture make it clear that love, not retaliation, is the mark of a true follower of Christ. I appreciate your reflection as it is definitely a needed reminder that Christlike love is both protective and transformative, and it starts with how we choose to see and treat the people around us.
